SWHBP is about The South West Hertfordshire Business Partnership which is an organisation as an economic development partnership of Local Authorities, working with local businesses and representatives from the local business community who work together to support the common interest which is promoting business in the region. The ultimate aim of SWHBP is to provide the best environment for new and existing businesses to grow in the area by working with leading executives from the private and public sectors on common agenda. Ultimately, it is there to show and make long term commitment to sustainable economic development with minimisation of disruption and maximises benefit for all.
According to SWHBP was set up in early 1990s and have conducted number of successful projects that has brought benefits to the area with minimised disruptions. SWBP manage many projects with aim to improve the business environment of the area and do welcomes ideas and involvement from businesses of all sizes within the region as long they bring benefits to the region. It is an independent organisation controlled and managed by authorised and voted directors representing number of different key organisations within the area. It is important not only for region of Hertfordshire to have an organisation that helps sustain economic development but for every region in whole UK to have one as they are the ears and eyes of economic activities within the region and are the one who can identify solutions to problems that is being detrimental to the local economy. This is because SWHBP have also the power to make decisions that can have an impact on the local economy, and also they are the first group of people to find out what is happening to the economy and as a result they all are the one to find the solutions quickly by working together. There SWHBP group work with two different groups representing the businesses as well as of all amenities such as library. One side is the Public Sector Representatives and the other side is Private Sector Representatives. From the public sector, there are representatives from all of the Lical Authoritiues in the rgion including Hertsmere, Dacorum, Three Rivers and Watford. They all work very closely on regular basis with SWHBP to help businesses expand effectively by being able to offer a range of support services. From the private sector, there are representatives of local Chambers of Commerce and Industry where they also work closely with SWHBP group on regular basis to help businesses expand effectively by providing an extensive range of services for businesses such as training and trading with public sectors.
